:)
Read a review recently on these, it was a group test. The SD didnt win as it doesnt have the ultimate top speed, but you'd have to be pretty quick to care. The new model does have an 18ltr tank. As you say, not much to complain about with them.

i never got round to writing a write up but here's a summary.
don't buy one if you think it will slow you down a bit. it might stop you going over 100mph (naked, wind blast gets uncomfortable etc) but it wont stop you acting like a hooligan everywhere else. pulling out to overtake someone was ridiculous amounts of fun :grin2
the suspension is sublime, i took a test ride on some unfamiliar very bumpy roads and i rode faster on it than i would have on my GSXR. admittedly i havent had my GSXR set up all right yet but there we are.
it's surprisingly revvy in 1st gear, nothing like how my 748 felt round town. the throttle felt very twitchy.
you will ride it with the biggest smile on your face like you can't quite believe it's legal to have that much fun.
didnt get much of an opportunity to test the brakes due to the fabulous engine braking (however this wasnt aggressive really) but did give it a little go slowing from 90 for a 30mph zone and they were awesome.
yes i would get one but i can't afford the extra money on top of mine. i found the bars a touch too wide but nothing like as uncomfortable as i found phil's monster when i rode that. i'm sure a set of renthals would solve that. it would be another £2k minimum plus my bike and i need all my moeny for racing.
the other thing is it's quite tall for me. you'd probably find it ok, the seat height is listed as quite high, but the seat is really narrow. and it certainly didnt feel like its dry weight was 20kg more than that of my GSXR. i would really have struggled on the gravel at brands today.
it did teach me that slowing myself down was only going to come from me, not from buying a bike with a slower top speed. but i kind of knew that anyway :skip
after i got off it i felt very cramped on my GSXR and i'm only little :laugh1
summary - ****ing loved it and would recommend to anyone.
and yes the fuel tank is now 18 litres. apparently the fuelling on the 2007 version is much much better low down the revs than the 2006 one but i still found it quite twitchy like i said, not really waht i was expecting from a big twin.
they have a demo at hyside in romford too :grin2
i'll get back in my cupboard now, hope this helped.

Managed to get a go on a super duke. Without babbling.....
Imagine sportsbike grip, handling, turn in speed. Add the torque from an RSV, the sound from an SP1 but the riding position of a Z1000. And you about there.
Its pretty revy, wheelies easily and stops as quick as anything i have ridden.
Gets breezy over 100, but unless you are very naughty, and im sure your not :laugh1.... It wont matter

Blimey Kev ........ You nearly dropped the gixxer at Boreham. How you gonna cope with a Super Duke
:grin1
What about later naked bikes to take the weight off your arm a bit ?
Have you considered any other bikes ?
Z1000

New 900 Hornet is ment to be good even though it's a Honda :grin2
I wouldn't say get an FZ1 ...... I found it to fast and quite hard on my arms and back over distance.

Err ........ the night you pulled into the parking areas at boreham and misplaced your foot while I was sat on the pumps watching :grin2 and you thought you'd got away with it.
Wednesday night cause you rode up to meet a few of us. I think harriebird, MisterE and Shorty was there about 5-6 weeks ago.
(or was it the weekend I turned up and went home just before I went down with chicken pox) ??
