My 18yr old has been shopping around for insurance on my SV and he's got a quote that seems to good to be true, has anyone ever heard of h & r insurance in Aberdeen, or had any dealings with them, or how can I check up on whether or not they are reputable?

Been around for a fair while and a fair few people seem to be insured through them.

My Son was insured with them, had a claim, no problems there, and got some very god candid advice from them. They advised him that as his policy was only running 1 month, that if he cancelled the policy and took out a new one, that he would get a years no claims bonus 11 months sooner.

I would have no problem recommending them, also try www.ebikeinsurane.co.uk

They have traded under that name since 08/01/2005. No regulatory disciplinary actions against them are registered. They act as an insurance intermediary and I can't find anything bad about them anywhere.

If the cover offered meets your needs and is a good price and you have confidence that when you need a claim they won't give you hassle (Kassandrich seems to have had no issues here) then why not?

I have only ever used H&R Dawn :)

They have always beaten every quote for me too (and even sent me a recommendation to take a different and cheaper quote before the deadline to renew my insurance ran out).

Strange thing was, there i am on the phone talking to this geezer and thinking to myself that if they are up in Aberdeen how on earth does he sound like everyone else down here, as soon as i told him the address i was insuring the bike at he then tells me he is from Westcliff on Sea :D

Small world, anyway i cant fault them :)

They tend to broker for the likes of Equity Red Star and Zenith for the most part although when my insurance was due again they sent me a long list of quotes by post and it would appear they deal with all the main underwriters anyway.

Oh and i dont remember ever being charged by them for amending any of the policies i have had either which isnt a bad thing :)

Ahh thanks everyone for your replies, it's encouraging to know you're all on hand to give valued information.

And Dave, I haven't quite made my mind up yet, test rides seem the appropriate first course of action :laugh1

I used H & R for a couple of years.. never had any problems.

With Bennetts now as they were a bit cheaper..

£469 TPFT which for an 18yr old with 4 points I didn't think was that sad
