OK I'm off away on the bike this week but need to know what you all use under throw over panniers if you use them at all.
I noticed Micky had them on here 750 at the pub last week. Just wonder if you use any protection Micky.
(for the bodywork) :grin2
The last time I went to Ireland and used my throw overs I used that matting that comes from Oxford and it marked my seat plastics quite bad.
The bandit l had at the time looked like this with the luggage on it.

I've seen a few people tape all the plastics up using white masking tape on the panels first then that silver gaffa tape on top of that, but I'll be using the bike with the luggage off it while I'm away and don't want to bike to look nafff or have the agro of taking the tape off and re-taping it for the journey home.
Any other ideas ????????

I always had wonderweb under my tank bag, never got a mark, just make sure you dont get any grit between the webbing and the paint.

:grin2I went to Hein Gerhicks and got that fabulous netting (Tribal? but maybe the wonderweb Karl's referring too) can't recall the spelling, I wrap intround the tail end and it grips well, shrugs of water and if it gets filty just hose it down and it dries fast, you can cut it and shape it and it doesnt fray etc....marvellous stuff:grin2
Have a great trip out hun...see ya soon...Be safe..:jumping2:laugh1

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm..........it was defo that web stuff that marked the paintwork because it was partially stuck to the bike when I took everything off.
Remember I will easily exceed 1200 miles in about 4-5 days. I think the excessive rain last time just got through everything so the web stuff was soaked through and rubbed but we are talking dodgy OEM Bandit paintwork.

I would also like to point out how well the bandit wheelied with the luggage on.

It wasn't just the luggage that helped it wheelie, it was the cup of 'Wild Bean Café Coffee' attached to the exhaust..............:laugh1

The netting I have doesnt 'stick' it just grips and it hasnt left any marks or residue on the bike so far and I got it rather damp today and it just came straight off. Maybe it's a variation on what Karl is talking about...not sure now....lolol.:jumping2
Now I dont have the packaging so that will bug me...lol...:grin2

Used on three different bikes, well over 30,000 miles, all weathers, never a mark.

Now see mine came with the luggage which "as seen in the picture" is Oxford.
Maybe thats why mine is different. I'll pop out tomoz and look at the motrax stuff.
Cheers Karl
