you could try harder rubber, or a stout bandage on your right wrist, this can help tyres last longer :grin2

Not such a daft idea, get some spare wheels off ebay and fit them with some touring tyres, they are actually all quite "sporty" these days anyway.

The point I was trying to make very succinctly put thanks Karl.
You don't need to go all the way to a touring tyre, a sports touring tyre (maybe BT20's, they are an excellent tyre) would last much longer than the softest sports compounds, and unless you are a riding God, (which most of us are not) then you will hardly notice the difference.

i've got BT014s, i ride from colchester to billericay every day and had 7000 miles out of my first rear tyre and 6000 miles out of my second.

Diablo corsas are good. I was going to try road attack 2cts for commuting, but now I dont need to, they should be very good. Hard in the centres but nice n stick around the edges.

sorry i was only passing on my opinion :p
i'm one of those annoying people who doesnt seem to care about mileage on my bike as i believe in riding it and enjoying it :grin2
maybe i am slightly sick in the head commuting on a GSXR1000 k6 but i ****ing love the bike so financial sense has gone out of the window!

I had michelin pilot power 2's (The dual compound jobs)
i used to commute everyday 30miles in 30 miles out towards bishops stortford along the twisties, i used to get around 10-12000 miles from a front & about 6000 from a rear! i thought that was bloody wicked, and that was riding quickly, like a sunday run but only everyday! (ahh i miss my commute)
but it does sound a lot like your just throwing the throttle open & burning up rubber! no offence ment tho, throttle does go both ways,
