Just my personal opinion but he wouldnt get my vote, thats not for anything other than the fact that i think Lewis Hamilton this year has done something even more befitting the title.
Dont get me wrong, Toseland has done well but he has had 7 years to establish himself in World Superbikes, he has won the title once already admittedly but how many real contenders to the title were there this year?
Now if he went to MotoGP and finished in the top 3 next year he would be number 1 for me, but i dont actually think he had as good a season as Haga to be honest.
Probably seems a little harsh, and it could be argued that Hamilton has had a free ride this year in F1, but (and it really gauls me to say this because i am not a big fan of F1 :D ) he has raced against top class drivers in the likes of the Ferrari team, and also plenty of others not forgetting the two time champion Alonso, he gets the vote on talent alone :)

Nope def dont agree with that, Not for any particular reason other than, all F1 comes down to is who gets on the best teams wins. Used to watch it when i was younger & one year someone would be on the podium all the time & the following year nowhere all because of what team they were with & got sick of it....No way should Hamilton be up for sports personality of the year....I would put money on the fact that you put Hamilton in a second rate team next year & it will be a different story.
The WSB title could have been won by anyone this year...... at the beginning there was loads of possibles.. Biaggi, Bayliss, Haga, no-one knew how it was going to turn out, but with regards to JT he deserved that this year he rode his heart out done what needed to be done...& the result....He won! :grin2

The title couldnt have been won by just anyone though
Toseland, Biaggi, Bayliss, Haga, Corser
That was it, 5 riders, for me Haga was actually the most improved and the best rider all season,
But consistancy wins championships.
If Biaggi hadnt knocked Haga off i still think it would have been a different story ;)
Regardless of what most of us think about F1 and as boring as it is, we are talking about a mere youngster having the skill to drive a 200mph car against top drivers, again the car makes up for most of it, but you still need the raw talent to even get a chance to drive the top cars ;)
At the end of the day i am not asking you to agree with my opinion, much the same as i wont try and force mine down your throat, for what its worth there are club racers out there at the moment that i would rather see as a sports personality of the year :D
