Hi hun,
If you ask Mickygixer for garys number he should be able to quote and do the work for you :clapif he has time that is :readinghe has done a couple of bikes on the site...a mighty fine job he has made of them too
Also Also if you want protectors get R+Gs....normally about £60ish for the frame, Front forks £25ish and rear boobins £25ish........obviously depending on the bike.
or a cheaper option..................
dont drop the bike !!!!!:laugh1

For paint you can also try big bike fan, he also does a nice job. I have had paint done by Gary twice now, and have seen a few other bikes he has done. Very nice, but he does get busy.

R & G are good for protecting against dropping the bike wilst stationary. Unfortunately, as some friends have found out, if you drop it with any forward momentum there is a chance you could do more damage. A couple of friends have done some frame damage with R & G. Both arduments have their pros and cons so the final decision rests with you.

I would fit them if i was you, i know a few people where they have saved the bike....bike plastics can be pricey, i fit them to every bike...

i would have to agree ive bought so many sets of R&Gs over the years i should be sponsored by them, they definately solve you some cash in the long run, and theyre one of the first things that i look to buy when i get a new bike

I agree but all crash protectors are there for is to 'try' and minimise the damage, more often than not they just stop the bike wrecking everything completely.
But there are just as many horror stories for R&G protectors not working even when the bike is knocked off its stand, Becky dropped hers at Mallory and it cracked the engine casing, its purely down to the bike its fitted to as whether or not any residual damage that does happen, is going to be expensive or not.
Personnally i would use them, there are plenty of cheaper copies out there that actually do more harm than good :)
try http://www.intobikes.co.uk/ never let me down yet :)

Thats where i got my most recent set of R&G's from! When i had my last off on the diesel...The R&G's kept the whole side of the bike looking sweet as a nut.....just ashame that the oncoming bmw decided to smash into the front of it....and then more of a shame that pikeys stole it to! if ONLY R&G did front mushrooms and pikey repell mushrooms!" lol

Better the pikey gits robbing it than you having to get the insurance to repair it, at least then you know you are riding a bike that hasnt been dropped :)
Its like having your car robbed and then the Police finding it, you dont want it back when some scrote bag has been hammering the life out of it :(

Urm ive dropped two, blade without bungs & caused considerable damage & my srad had mushrooms on it.... they found themselve going up a kerb & it kept everything in check (although the mushroom was bent to almost 90 degrees but it worked & no frame damage at all this is the first i've heard of this.... small amount of fairing damage minimal to what it could have been, & having it not hit a lampost or a landrover discovery driving over it... i would still be riding it right now....... so just some new levers fairings & a foot peg & switches for me then......
cant go wrong wi' crash bungs or you could try crash bars if your a hardcore crash fanatic.....
Here's some the guvnor fitted earlier!!! HAHA

As lateshift said, when i dropped mine the crash bung punctured the engine casing - but nothing another crash bung cant sort out LOL or the engine bolt screw - No one will ever no - Apart from the whole forum :grin2
But they did do the job when i had a little spill. so definatly worth investing in some!

I slid down silverstone straight at over 140mph wen it finaly stopped sliding it had only just worn through the generator cover
Get some!
If the frames gonna bend it will either way but less likely with crash bungs
I truely reccommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think they are a good idea, I dont have them myself as I cant bring myself to dril into the fairing. I just thought that paris should be aware that there are potential problems, one of my friends cracked the engine mount with R&G and another the frame, one of those people had a coming together with a van earlier on in the year (kept it upright) bent his bung and put a gouge down the side of the van, bike was unscathed.
I thought it wise to let people know that crash bungs will not always stop all damage.

Good point but they definatly minimise the damage in most accidents
