Well its been and gone but what a weekend.
A fitting end to the season for Perilous, after narrowly missing out on 3rd place in the BMCRC Superbike 400 championship, despite some fantastic races and i must add against some quality opposition.
All the hard work paid off, as he managed to get a couple of wins and a couple of second places (although he led them two races for the majority aswell).
The weather was excellent down at Lydden and it produced some fantastic racing.
The first race depsite being stopped after 3 laps due to a number of accidents was incredible with Perilous (not being known for ballistic starts!!) had a 75 yard advantage after 1 lap :D
Still undeterred and with a bit of a point to prove he went out an hour or two later for the restart and blitzed it again and this set the scene for the weekend really.
Never out of the top 2 and having to ride every inch of the track to keep an extremely well ridden 400cc 2 Stroke at bay he did a cracking job!
All in all an excellent season that has seen him come away with 4th in quite a tough championship and with no broken bones.
A big well done :)

Ta all.:)
Yeah its been a bit of an up and down season in the Polden racing abilty department (must be the male menopause:grin2) this year.
I'd have liked to have put my new team on the podium at the end of the year but there are. Not having had a season without either breaking a bone or carrying a previous season injury since 2002 I was a rather keen to stay in one piece this season and a bit over cautious for SB 400 at the front. Getting your agressive racing nature back on the last day of the last round is a tad late :grin2 but fourth aint bad considering the competition.
All in all its been a pretty good season and my pit crew have been ace (Mind Mick don't alf nag :grin2) and has seen Mick go from being apprehensive around my bike with mother hen Polden hovering over his shoulder (I never let any one near the bike normally) to me not being allowed to touch it and under pain of death if even so much as harbout thoughts of dropping his 'baby'.:grin2
Lydden was the nuts. Normally 400s at the Lord of Lydden is a bit off the pace from the championship rounds but this year it (and me) was faster and more consistent lap after lap than its ever been and when your ancient exceeding your best ever lap time in the last lap of a race whilst passing backmarkers is just brilliant:grin2, even if I did rather infuriatingly miss my year long target by .003 of a second.
Am I pleased to finally beat the yoof on the more powerful, lighter better handling two stroke. Oh yeah. :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

That's the trouble with you whippa snappas, you think you know it all.
Chrome rims on the front, an even smaller rear wheel for that cool easy rider look and big cow horns on where all the rage on our penny farthings.
cow horns were especially important so we could fit on all our different shiny chrome bells (although one of the rich kids spoilt all that by getting one of those state of the art hooters with a rubber flubber on the end) and play 20s jazz tunes as we pedaled down (It was always down we never went up hill) the road. :grin2
Kids today I ask yer. You dunno yer born. :grin2
