let me just say i went for the tzr mainly for most the same reasons spider did. plus the money u save on insurance u may as well just keep in the bank adding wotever u can till u no longer need the restrictor then just buy ya fat bike that you've wanted! :D

TZR wins my vote ANY DAY!!!!
the TZR's kick arse
wot id do if i was u is not to go for a zx4r but to get a TZR 250 instead!!!
Those bikes r the nuts!
Oh yer, the TZR250... hmm... didn't think too much about the 250's!!! oooo...!!! :D cheers! But only problem, still a 2stroke! Kind of want something bit more reliable/comfortable/meatier sounding. comfort and reliability cos im goin to uni next year hopefully, and the meatier sound to impress the ladies!!! Cos they (and stupid guys) don't seem to appreciate a sweet sounding 2stroke!!!
TZR. half the price on ins and the same power!

if you want something meetier get a baby blade!
Yer, looks like TZR is winning the vote so far!
As for the Baby Blades, I presume that you mean the 400...? well I would, but I'm not keen on the frog eyed headlights, in fact not keen at all (sorry Dan)!!!

yea i am talking about the 400's.
as you say the frog eyes r dogey but the bike is gorgeous!!!
i swear you can change the lights tho....... if you can do that it would look the tits!

thats easily solved (the lights) just get another nose cone/top fairing off a bike u like the look of along with the lights, screen n H frame, just modify it a little n hey presto! u have a pukka looking bike which is a one off n to your own taste.
Remeber modifications to a bike will always make it sell for more, n doing summin like this makes it a one off. I nearly went for a R6 front end on my TZR but havent yet due to the price of the lights. :(

right as for the TZR250 its the most reliable bike i have ever had! and as for comfortable! it is very comfortable! and pokey and as for more "meater" well if u have heard a TZR250 woosh past ya it sounds pretty meatty" as your probably! thinking of a 125 or a 50 with the dodgy 2stroke sounds! specially a 250 with race pipes on sounds deep!

a nice 250 is good just means ya working ya way up through the insurance bracket, which is a good thing!
i do like the gsx4 as i did have my mind on one or a vfr4. depends if ya want the speed or the maintenance!
250 aint far behind if any in some cases on speed but its just the maintenance! not gonna be to different than ya 125 though!
been told its only after u've had ya first 4 stroke that u notice the difference!
so like i said work ya way up!!!
Spider

the only maintence i do on me 250 is forseals! and moving the chain back as i wheelie alot and stretch the chain! also it does drink alot of oil!
I would Like one of those 250 4 strokes but they seem difficult to get hold of and my 400 is less to insure than a 125!!1 :P

oops sorry i forgot about all them thievin little fu**kers out there tha go for all the smaller bikes like 125's and the 250's.
Never had nothing stolen from me (touch wood) but if anyone ever does and i find em i swear i will terrorise them to start with tie em up and glue there eyes n mouth shut n stick em in a bat infested cave i no of n leave em there to either get munched by some annimals or rott.
Iam a nice person really!!! :D
BLIMEY!!! bit harsh!!! Mind u, i think i would do similar, especially how long i spent on my baby!!! (see bike pics gallery)!!! (and posts from about a year ago asking lots of questions)!!!
yer, i was thinking about changing the front end of a frog eyed 400+it's do-able for sure+would look the nuts, but it's time...! Also, the ZX4R has those sexy big air intakes on the front nose cone! and my dad has two ZX6R's, of which I'm guessing a lot of the parts will be the same or similar?!
The idea of a nice 250 does sound quite nice, but if i were to change i think i would rather go for a 4 stroke for less maintenance, what with going to uni and not being able to afford new parts etc., let alone have anywhere to actually do the work or the tools!!! Oh, damn these 33bhp restrictions to hell!!! :x
Decisions decisions...
BTW. anyone know how many posts u need to move up the rankings?[/quote]

yeh fair enough i like them too,n it is just the lights i dont like on em.
ive seen some with just one light like the race rep.(can look a bit odd though)
u can always cut out the light section of the fairing n alter that with ally mesh and fibre glass to the shape of a light that u prefer!!!
think i may get one n do that next year sounds pretty good.(would prob go for a light like a TZRR the new shape one i think that would be quite sexy! along with polished wheels n parts all over.that would make me :D
sounds cool!
wish i could just do that! if only i had more time!!! hmm... wonder if my dad could do it for me...?!  ah, but then if it's there in the garage i just end up doin it and not doin stuff i should be!!!
think i'll just stick with the TZRR for the meantime, just see wot comes up, how things go and if anyone manages to sway me on here!!!
although, that's a good point earlier about little oiks goin for 125's more than 400's for theft, might be interesting to get some quotes for insurance.
About the insurance. 400's are usually a lot lot more than a 125!
I was paying £400 TPO on my TZR125R for a VFR they wanted over £800
The only reason my SRX is £400 TPO is cos it is only 33bhp and dont need restricting.
You can get a bandit 600 or a hornet for £600 TPO!

oh and that fairing wouldnt take that long i'd say a week max! n thats shaping n finding a safe way of mounting the light bracket all ready for primer and paint!!!(n yes i am talking evenings!)
it's gotta be worth the time and effort!
and... has anyone seen this weeks MCN? they got a tuning bit in there according to my mate (i gotta pick one up 2moz) and the zx4r is in the top ten most tuned bike (without boring)!!! he reckoned they got it from 55bhp (factory standard) to 80bhp with just tuning!!! hmm...
I have seen just under 90 bhp from some VFR race bikes!

tell ya wot that sounds good!
better get a coppy today. do u no if they tell ya how its done?exepect they will but when u see the price of the k&N n stuff they prob used on it that will prob change your mind.
i will have to wait n see!
Nope, they don't tell ya how to do it! It's just in there as one of the top bikes for tuning!
with the VFR, is that with boring out or not...?
Oh, and forgot to say, I think my decision for the meantime is made up! I dropped my TZR the other day! some silly moo decided to stomp on her brakes in front of me, I had cold tyres and went down!!! OOOPS!!!   but it's not too bad, just a couple of things here and there, just waiting on parts at the mo.! But I am without a machine for a while!!!   think i will take the tzr off the road for the winter and get the RM road worthy, get it in for it's MOT!!!
Nope, they don't tell ya how to do it! It's just in there as one of the top bikes for tuning!
with the VFR, is that with boring out or not...?
This was a formula 400 bike so it wont be big bore.

the insurance on my tzr was more than my gsxr400 and im only 18, but they are with different companies and id only had my cbt for a month when i bought my tzr. id go for the 400, just for the sound  . chris
As for those who don't know (posted it in another topic), I've not gone for a 400, I've picked up a ZX2R. 250, 4-cylinder 4 stroke! Sounds gorgeous and look great (well will do)!!! So I'm looking at selling my TZR in the summer or something when my ZX is ready! :(

do you have a picture of the zx2r? ive never seen one before, and i do like the look of kawasakis. what kind of price will you be looking for for the tzr? my brothers thinking of getting into biking and he likes my tzr, so he will probably want one for summer.
haven't got round to taking any pictures of the Kawaski yet! And won't be too soon, got a lot of it apart! It's pretty much the same as the 400's, with the fox-eye headlight. I will take some of it sometime and post them up here.
Well, I was hoping for about 1850...? It's all clean etc. erm... I think I might have what's happened to it on here somewhere, if not, I'll post something later!
