couple of piccies from cadwell before i had my liitle crash.

a few people have asked now so here we are.

i crashed while going for an overtake through Hall Bends - very brave but ultimately doomed! the old cliche, it all happened so fast! i just remember thinking "this isn't going to......" argghhhh and i was tumbling and landing on bits and then it hurt lots!

anyway i got the teensiest teensiest bit of air on the mountain which looks quite cool, scary as **** when the bars start to weave but good afterwards!

the second picture is of me managing to stay ahead of zimbo (he was probably just about to overtake!) so i was chuffed.

i've shattered the trapezium bone (above the scaphoid, at the bottom of the thumb) and broken the metacarpal bone in my thumb, on my right hand which is very frustrating and quite scary too.

i just have to wait and see how it heals before anything else as it's on a really crucial joint in the body - to quote mr simpson "that joint is the only thing that stops us being monkeys"

the bike is fine, i have a dent in the tank from where the bars hit, but that's about all. any of you aspiring DDers will be pleased to hear that the monsters crash very well!

i had to be cut out of my leathers, my hand was at a pretty grim angle and i was too much of a baby to put it through my sleeve. Lily made them cut through the stretch panel though, to make it easier to repair.

everyone was great, Lily stayed with me all afternoon and kept me company at the hospital, and Ruth drove me home. and a big thanks to the marshall who put her arms round me to shield me from the people watching, so i could have a big old girlie sob without everyone looking at me!

so. not the best end to the season, but once i heal i hope to be back out there asap :clap

Overtaking through Hall Bends! You should be in SB 400 or SS600 as you have to be clinically insane to overtake there unless you're just passing a backmarker.:grin2

Hope you heal up quickly and don't have to look at Brian's battle scars tooo many times.:grin2

been signed off the physio now, yayyyyyyy :jumping2i only need to go back if i have any problems with it.

the movement is coming back slowly and surely and i should be ok for a little spin before Christmas. last week i couldnt even twist a throttle let alone grab a brake but the throttle thing has improved and the brake is coming too.

i have unfinished business with Cadwell  but next time i shall time my overtakes slightly more carefully and try and ignore the red mist :laugh1

hopefully i'll be ok to start getting some track time in after the new year :skip but i'm not rushing it (no change there then!) - I'm gutted to have missed out on all the testing i'd hoped to do but hey there's still time!

apparently i had 2 wheel lift at some point (other than when it bounced across the scenery...) but no snaps of that - typical!

i healed quicker than Harriebird! :)
