dyna pro i think are known for being the most accurate (so often read a bit lower than other dynos)

in series where horsepower is restricted or a single make series, a dyna pro dyno is used to test bikes every so often after races to check that no one is being naughty :grin2

Not far off Harrie ;)

However all dyno machines vary down to calibration, so one Dyna pro machine may not read the same as another, also the operator has an impact on the readings too ;)

The reason Dyna Pro is used for the circuits is mainly because thats the dyno the circuits are using, its not because its more accurate though.

In actual fact the Fuchs dyno machines tend to be amongst the more accurate but they arent as common. (Southern Cross have one which cost a fair chunk of money).

In reality the main difference between Dyno Jet and Dyna Pro is nothing more than the manufacturer.

The likes of Phil Seton amongst others will use a Dyna Pro machine because he tends to tune race bikes and it makes sense to tune a bike on a Dyno that is being used at the circuit (if you are going to race your bikes there that is).

But most tend to think that the Dyna Pro machines actually read under the true figure to actually allow for higher states of tune, i know that on the BMCRC circuit dyno, most bikes show at least 5bhp less than they do on the machines they were tuned on.

Essentially the dyno machine isnt the weak link, tuning is tuning whether it be on a Dyno Jet machine or a Dyna Pro, the operator is the key to it and as long as the fueling shows the correct ratio it wont make any difference for a road bike what machine its tuned on :)
