I thought it was a bit nippy on the way home tonight (thank god for my electric vest and gloves). It was showing minus 3.3 degrees centigrade on my outside thermometer.

Thats funny because I have a weather report thingy on my PC and it went to -1 last night, but it is still showing +2 tonight and its 23.30
......but I have no idea where it takes its reading, could be miles and miles away.

I had a wotsit somewhere that calculated wind chill on a bike from speed and ambient temp. You'd not be suprised to know that it get pretty cold on a motorbike, quite alarmingly so.
Of to Chelmsford now for some research :)

I remember leaving a girlfriends house in Epping one winter night and the brakes didn't work the first pull because of ice on the discs where I had washed it in the afternoon and left it to drip dry and the seat had to be beaten beacuse it was as hard as a piece of wood.
Yup I had ABS and an Africa Twin seat, years before both were invented.

Well, after 5 winters on the bike I can honestly say, its lovely and warm if you wear the right equipment. Like a train for example :)I tried a train once when it was snowing. I discovered that I froze on the walk to the station, sweated like a pig on the hot crowded carriage, then froze again walking from the station to work. I think my body temperature was better off just getting cold and staying cold in the end.......:grin2

I know that when it was piddling cats n dogs at work I was always the driest because I walked from the car park with my waterproofs and crash helmet still on, but everyone else had to leg it in their normal clothes through the storm and got soaked after staying dry all the way in.

Yup statements agreed.:reading Id rather filter for miles in the ****ing rain and cold just to progress steadily when everyone else is stuck in their cars stationery as some arsehole 'usually' in a car has had a collision due to the fact that he/she drives like a ****tard in bad weather.
At least I know Im gonna get home and Im moving:skip. A bit of a chill and a runny nose is worth it. Better any day than sitting bored in my car for hours in a jam.:shooter
