Well hello one and all,,, long time no speak,,, :grin2 any way,,, not sure if many of you guys know,,, or even care,,, :laugh1 but Monk and i moved down to Havant,,, near Portsmouth,,, so a little far away now,,, :(
Any way,,, need a little help if any one fancys a guess,,, my poor old SV is a bit sick,,, unfortunatly she lives in the cold now,,, and had some trouble cold starting,,, but whilst trying,,, there was a very loud crack from the engin,,, and now even with the cluch in,,, the back wheel won't turn (tried to bump start it)!!!
Now is this fatal???

Sounds like it gary,........ althought there's always hope, what was the oil level like at the time??

Sounds possibly like the starter clutch has jammed on to me.
Are you able to wheel it backwards at all?

Erm,,, oil level is fine,,, hadn't even thought of trying wheeling it back,,, it's fine when not in gear,,, but as soon as you put it in gear,,, even holding the cluch leaver in it won't free wheel :(

You sure the clutch cable hasnt snapped?

Not being mechanically trained but would the clutch leaver not be all floppy and not have any resistance???

will it still go in gear and have you tried bumping it /I now its a twin but only alittle one :laugh1 it might just be the starter jammmed :reading

Exactly, I was just ruling out the obvious, if you have a firm clutch lever then it is very likely what every one else is saying, your starter.
Although having re read your post you say the wheel wont turn with the clutch pulled in, have you managed to get the bike on a stand to test this, or is it just skidding when you try to push it?

Hey,,, well thanks for all the advice,,, somehow Monk seems to have sorted it with his golden touch :grin2 seems all it needed was some more charge in the battery,,, apparently it started fine and when he took it out for a run it was fine!!! think i'm gonna get it in for a service soon!!! thanks again guys!!!
