what the hell

taking off from a layby on the 130 2 days ago,as i changed into 4th grinding sound from gearbox and chain snap and stop what the hell has happened? any suggestions please.thanks.:(

I would say a tight spot in the chain which refused to go round the front sprocket...but rhe fact you managed to ride and end up in the layby then pull away and get into 4th gear makes me think that's impossible.

There's far more technically minded people on here mate, so I'm sure the answer will appear on this page very soon :grin2
