Hello!
My name is Clive, I'm 34, married and live in Halifax. I have an '89 73A that I bought last Feb for £140. It had been in a bit of a smash and stood for 18 months, no plastics left uncracked, a motor that wouldn't rev past 6K (cams like 50p pieces and concave followers), bent forks, warped discs, smashed lamps, seized brakes, leaking petrol tank, blah, blah, blah.
Thanks to eBay and BAT motorcycles I now have discs, a replacement cylinder head from a 74A (GSXF 400 which used the 73A motor), fork tubes (and now rebuilt finished forks with working adjusters-my 73A has SP forks from a later model?), headlamps, a new screen, full set of race plastics, gasket set, cam chain, manual and a set of fairing stickers!
Bought the bike for track days as I was sick of throwing the good bike down the road when the red mist came down. Hope to be up and running by May 1st, maybe see you at EB track day. I've only been round Cadwell, Oulton and Three Sisters, C&O are the canine's cajones and ideal for good handling bikes short on legs.
Speak to you when I get stuck.
Cheers
Clive :wall:
