View Full Version : Proffesional Respray??
Anyone able to recommend a place that will price up a respray job on my bike?? considering changing the colour to white..:grin1
Either that or how much paint would i need.. where from.. etc etc
Or possibly another colour, just im getting sick of the 'homemade' paintjob:grin2
but if im honest, the most shame was the little tyke that walked past my 'roaring' bike and said 'mummy look! a moving christmas tree:shooter'
So yeah.. Rubish paintjob... GOTTA GO!!!:grin3

Hi Tooey a repaint would cost you in region of £350/£400 if its a single colour and no fancy work required you could always rub it all down your self and use aerosol cans but it does need to be quite a warm room to stop blooming
Gary at spraypoint southend
Phone pole position mcs at southend & berik will give you his number if he still does it
Or place behind tesco express at leigh a13,first left after tescos(left at lights,50yds then left again),forgot his name, think its steve!

....How much did you pay for the bike?
Its not worth spending £400 on surely? Also bear in mind Dave is saying £350 - £400, but that is probably for a standard bike, with your panniers and box there is a lot more to paint.

hmm i hear you... silly question perhaps, but do they remove the items from the bike to paint them.. as erm... that will be incredibly difficult (as i found the other day) due to masses of cables.:reading
oh and by the way, although i 'Have' panniers, i cant fit them as i dont know how.. no brackets were supplied and i dont know anyone i can take them to that can source brackets for them..

Yes it is normal practice to remove items from a bike for painting, otherwise you have problems with overspray and bits you can't get to.

Kid, nice! :grin2
Your painting it white because you fantasize about being in a uniform and you know everyone else will think your a rozzer and sit behind you while you laugh your lil blonde nuts off.
If you have that sort of money to spend then px it and get another bike ;)

Ok 3 questions for you
1. Have you actually SEEN my bike?
Answer: No you havent, as if you had you would of seen the paintjob it has currently got
2. Have you actually SEEN my bike?
Answer: No you havent, as if you had you would of seen that it looks f**k all like a police bike
3. Have you actually SEEN my bike?
Answer: No you havent as if you had you would realise that anyone that believes my bikes a police bike when its painted white is a bigger twat than you.:grin2
And yes as much as i would love to replicate a police vehicle, trying to replicate a british police bike is more trouble than its worth.. so that idea was scrapped along time ago!:laugh2

It could of done the journey, but i thought better than to attempt it with a punctured back wheel and my mates girlfriend as pillion ;)
I said im looking at painting it white, ive seen a fair few 'black and white bikes' and they look really nice and not that common..
White is a common colour for a lot of bikes, its just usually mixed with another colour e.g. blue and white gixxers..
dont see what your problem is, i want to paint it white as its easier to add designs into, its like a 'canvas' paint, so i can put tribal designs on it.. add other colours should i want to, without having to strip off all the red/blue/green/black paint off..
in fact.. i dont know why im arguing this with you at all to be frank, its my bike and ill do whatever i please with it..:shooter
