ROTARY CLUB OF CROWBOROUGH
ROTARY RIDE-OUT

http://www.rotaryrideout.co.uk/ (http://www.rotaryrideout.co.uk/)

This website provides information on our Cathedral City Ride-out for motorcyclists. The site will be updated as more information becomes available.
The event will be run over the weekend of 21st & 22nd June 2008. Entrants will obtain personal sponsorship for their ride, the objective is to visit nominated checkpoints in or near cathedral cities or on route where distances are greater. Entrants will get a visit sticker at each checkpoint visited, the number of checkpoints visited is optional as is riding on one or both days of the event. Entrants will start from their home and the route between checkpoints is entirely optional, there will be no central start or finish point.
The checkpoints will be located in the South East with 17 locations currently planned. We would estimate that to visit all the checkpoints should not exceed 500 miles, although this is not a requirement.
The principal purpose of the ride-out is to raise funds for the Royal Marsden NHS Hospital Trust, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and other Rotary Charities. nb for Spill - nothing to do with Notruns

You CAN when:

1) You get sent down a road where the signs are covered by trees, and you have to go by road markings hence no prior warning to no entries etc - Failed for: Nothing.. just the guy 'wanted to be sure and would prefer i came back and redone it 2 weeks later'. didnt tell me he was going on holiday 2 weeks later though.:shooter(Romford)

2) Some nobhead cuts you up on your test causing you to break suddenly (rather than crash) Failed: For 'being to close to other traffic'- HE CUT ME UP????(Romford):shooter

3) You swerve to avoid something in the road, rather than throw the bike down the road (Note: I passed that one) (Chelmsford)

Just because you've been riding a 125 for X amount of time doesent mean that you'll definately pass your test...:grin2 its the one day you have to ride a specific way.. which i found difficult as i rode differently to what they did.. not that i was wrong.. just that that was the way the examiner expected you to ride..:grin3

I didnt say anything about passing my test first time. And just cos I have been riding for 18 months on a 125 dont mean a thing. Besides I ride mostly on the A13 and in central London not out in the sticks. And I am having very serious second thoughts about taking my test at a centain test centre in Romford. Looks like I will be on my way to Chelmsford to do mine. Most tests I pass second time anyway. If I do pass first time then all the better for me as it will save me another £4-500 to re-do my test.
