As you may/may not of heard, im hoping to bring back the CBX.. atm its been a bit of a challenge locating the parts (honda wanted 500 quid for a starter motor, david silver spares 400)..:shooter

Now its not as simple as putting a new engine/motor in and off we go again..:grin2

First of all.. i need to get a logbook for it, as it wasnt given to me nor was a green slip by the previous owner (layabout).

But as far as im aware, i can go to DVLA Chelmsford and pay over the counter (correct?).:reading

But im assuming ill have to wait for details to be changed etc etc etc and if so how do i tax the vehicle??? It had never been taxed when i owned it due to not having a v5, i was going to chelmsford the day after it blew up.. but didnt see the point after it gave up.:grin2

Also is it true you dont 'have' to display your tax as its all online now? i dont think the bike even has a tax disc holder on it, obviously if its not true ill grab one.. its not really an issue just wondering really..:grin3

When i confronted the previous owner about the problems with the bike (no v5 no tax) he just said 'oh i dont worry about little things like that...'

He also clearly didnt worry about little things like 'oil' or 'servicing' :shooter

regarding tax, there are 2 legal requirements.

1. You must have it taxed
2. you must display a valid tax disc

obviously 2. is the lesser law, and in all honesty providing 1. is covered, and that can be checked on PNC by Police, then 2. will probably be overlooked. But no guarantees.
