hello!
i was wondering, to pass an MOT, would my tzr 125 need to have a chain guard?
because the person that had it before me ground it off.
another thing is that this same person had drilled around 6 holes in the air box, is this going to mess anything up like me carbs?
any advice will be gladly appreciated.
cheers

u dont have to have a chain guard for the mot.
holes in the carbs??? yes, this will mess up the carb. do you think yamaha spent millions of ££'s on research and development to get the airbox/filter correct and set the carb up for airbox just so joe bloggs can drill holes in it? lol! on my racebike, i have 4 holes in the airbox that have been drilled. they were drilled into strategic places, whilst the bike was on a dyno, with gas analysers strapped into the exhausts to measure the air/fuel level coming out. of those 4 holes, we used just one which gave the increase needed without rejetting the carbs. now my exhausts are different, the 4th hole has been blocked until i can get back onto the gas analyser. the hole was effective with the stock pipes which received heavy mods to the baffle.
i would advise that you check the carb main jet size, set it to stock, and block those holes off. unless you know that it was proffessionally set up!
