Default Spanky got a good send off!

Spider and I turned up for Spanky's funeral, he had a good send off with about 20 bikes in the procession, most in leathers and white shirt and black tie.

We completely blocked the pavement outside the church where we parked the bikes.

There was much revving of engines and a few small burnouts, Mr Plod was waiting when we came out of the Church, but sensibly they took no notice of minor infringements!

Vicar was very good and bikes and biking and Spankys love of riding were bought into his talk.

............and Spider let me leave my right indicator going for ages, thought he would have tipped me a nod or something, I lookied down as we passed a speed camera (habit, even though we were doing funeral procession speeds) and there was the right indicator flashing, I have no idea how long for but it was some time ops:

was a good turn out.... i for one was moved to tears during the service

i was in the honoured position of being one of the five bikes infront of the funeral car...
as we rode along clacton seafront we came onto a straight and barry takes off pulling a wheelie....
so i follow suit...

we both stopped.... looked back.. only to find the funeral car had turned off down 2/3rd/4th aveune (one of the aveunes) ops:

spanky would of been laughing

the weather was just right... any hotter are bikes would have been overheating

Message posted on the MCNNinjas site from Glyn's father-in-law, Colin. Thought I'd pass it on

"To all you bikers - you wonderful, wonderful people
Glyn has made his last journey and his family wish to thank every biker who posted a message on this site and those who just thought of him on Monday
A huge thank you to all the bikers who attended the funeral and escorted the coffin through town - there were so many I couldn't thank them all in person.
And to Barry, Glyn's best mate, what can I say?? You gave him a send off usually reserved for royalty - just what the big Geordie deserved. When Glyn's 7 year old son arrived at church I saw the look of pride when the bikers all revved up. I will never forget it.

Bikers, every one of you, you did us proud - You are "SIMPLY THE BEST""

No shame in that, I didn't think I was going to be able to ride from the Church as I couldn't see through the tears!

......How on Earth did his wife hold it together  I couldn't have spoken when she did, I was too choked up! .....an amazingly strong Lady, I think it was a front put on for the kids, 'cos she is seriously cut up by it

Two, are you in regular contact with Barry and the lads? If there is a memorial ride, can you make sure I know about it, it'll have to be from the Q8 garage at 7.30 on a sunday morning
